Although I told myself that I wouldn't watch the final episode of Saiunkoku Monogatari (The Story of Saiunkoku) Season 2...
I watched it.
And okay, well even though I watched the ending, and was even considering (at that time) to drop watching the anime entirely, I have decided to stop being so ridiculous and just suck it up.
Hey, there are a total of 78 episodes okay? And I just started watching. Today. So.... if the ending was going to turn out bad, you can imagine why I was really considering dropping it- it's not about how much time I would've wasted watching it, but it's how high I'll drop when I realise that the ending was completely unsatisfactory to my fangirl-imaginations.
I guess the major problem with my tastes is that they're just never meant to end happily (or at least, that's what the producers who make my animes think).
Because, it's simple enough to find romantic animes that end happy- but I'm not that into the whole "sappy romantic" type of stuff. I actually get really bored halfway through, if not slightly cynical, because in the end it's just going to follow a predictable storyline, and really, whose (okay, maybe 0.000000001% of the population) romance in real life turns out like one of these sappy types of animes?
Nor am I interested in any other hardcore version of all other genres. Though it doesn't sound as convincing, I can also say that I don't really enjoy harems, reverse or otherwise, either. Especially those that are so predictable and contain fan-service (I'm currently very sick of watching animes drenched from the first to last episode in fan-service).
I like animes that have a good balance of both supernatural (not the psychopath type), romance, comedy, mystery and historical. I also don't like animes that have no "moral behind the story" (this is why I usually can't sit through watching a comedian perform).
Not to mention, I'm extremely picky about character design; if I don't like at least how the main characters look like, I won't watch it.
Yeah.....now I'm starting to wonder how I even managed to watch so many animes, with all this picky selection process haha
